As I promised I will tell you about my 89 year old friend. He actually is a 2nd cousin of my grandfather's who I met 2 years ago at a reunion from my great-grandmother's side of the family. I first went to go see him as he had old pictures of the family I wa interested in. Well, that devloped into this interesting friendship that we now have. It's funny telling people I have an 89 year old friend, even funnier because 2 of my friend's from Culver's were related to him. He was their grandfather's brother. So I went to visit him yesterday because it's been a while. I used to visit him every 2 weeks, but now I'm terribly busy a lot and gas is expensive, so it's down to about once a month. I like to visit with him, as we talk about the family and what not. Yesterday we went driving to a couple of different cemeteries ( more about that later), and we ended up at a bar where we stopped to have a drink, which amused me. As usual, I'm not really sure what's going on, and suddenly something funny/cool happens. It was a nice bar, and a good drink( Brandy and Coke, which is simple but tasty.

Back to cemeteries. I'm almost never as content as I am when I am wondering around a cemetery. Because I research the family tree, I spend a lot of time in cemeteries, and I really enjoy it. It's always so peaceful and interesting. I usually end up talking to the people there ( the dead, I never talk to the living). Usually they are related, but sometimes they're not. But I can just spend hours wandering around, looking at the stones, and pondering. I LOVE the giant catholic cemeteries of Milwaukee!

Well.... I suppose....

Yes, I love cemeteries. Always have. Even when I was younger I would always seem to find them when riding in the car.

i love that you have old people as friends. you should really work on getting that oldie nun to be your friend, too. and then i can live vicariously through your friendship with her, since the eldery scare me.

Really, the elderly scare you? People my age scare me. I write the oldie nun alot, but she only responds every couple of months! I have another "old" friend in Missouri. This is my odd life. I was looking for descendants of a half brother of my great-grandfather, and I found this woman's name. So I wrote her in January, she wrote, back, I caller her, and in March I went and saw her and stayed with her for a couple of days ( we went and visited a different cousin and went to Branson!). She's 84! My family makes fun of my and my old friends.
